Info on LANCIA MUSA model - the right selection of spare parts
Lancia Musa
Lancia Musa minivan was produced from October, 2004 to September, 2012 at Fiat plant in Turin. For four years (from 2006 to 2009) it was the best sold minivan in Italy.
Model I generation
At the Geneva motor show in 2004 the Lancia Company presented the first minivan — Lancia Musa. It borrowed from Fiat Idea not only the platform, but also electronics, mechanics and a line of engines, but this new car from Lancia had a more elegant body and quality interior trimming. Lancia Musa dimensions (4040 mm in length, 1700 mm in width and 1660 mm in height) emphasized the practical and versatile nature of these cars - they were equally convenient both for long trips, and for movement in city conditions.
Sideways Lancia Musa cars were almost identical with Fiat Idea, it was possible to identify the model by small letters "M" only, stamped on the side of the front doors. The front part of the minivans was the most unique: it had a chrome radiator grille in Lancia retro style, teardrop headlights, a bumper with black plastic inserts reducing risk of body damage in case of accidental collision when parking. The boot volume of Lancia Musa made 320 l in standard situation; the folded rear seats increased it to 1420 liters.
The interior of Lancia Musa was in many respects borrowed from Lancia Ypsilon model: it had alcantara or leather finish (depending on a package), abundance of chrome details, front seats with independent armrests.
Model I generation restyling
The updated Lancia Musa was presented in 2007 at the Frankfurt motor show. After restyling, the wheel base was increased by 50 mm that allowed to make the boot of the minivan 70 litres larger. Changed design of the rear door made loading of large baggage more convenient, and the rear window reaching registration plate and futuristic form of the lights made the rear part of Lancia Musa unique and easily recognizable. Changes concerned the front part of the car also: the bumper lost black plastic inserts, the design of the radiator grille and Lancia logo plate was updated.
New Lancia Musa was equipped with the modern infotainment Blue&Me system developed jointly by the Fiat and Microsoft companies. Lancia Musa gave motorists a variety of customizing options, offering about 80 different colour combinations of body paint and interior trimming.
In spite of the fact that Lancia Musa cars were in quite good demand, in 2012 their production was stopped. Within the model range of the producer, Lancia Musa did not receive direct replacement; Fiat 500L is considered to be the successor of this model.
